Rice bran contains lipase with high activity. Under suitable conditions, it can rapidly decompose oils and fats, leading to rancidity. To inactivate the lipase activity, the following methods can be adopted: steam heating method, extrusion puffing method, and microwave treatment method.

Crude oil refining

    Degumming
    ——
    Transfer the crude oil to the pre - heating tank and heat it to 50 - 70℃ to create suitable temperature conditions for the degumming reaction. Slowly add an appropriate amount of phosphoric acid solution to the crude oil. The phosphoric acid reacts with colloidal impurities such as phospholipids in the crude oil, causing them to agglomerate into larger particles. Then send the crude oil to a centrifuge. Under the action of the centrifugal force generated by high - speed rotation, the gum - like substances are separated from the oil, and degummed oil is obtained.

    Deacidification

    Based on the acid value of the crude oil, accurately calculate and prepare a sodium hydroxide solution. Heat the degummed oil to 60 - 80°C. Under stirring conditions, slowly add the sodium hydroxide solution so that the lye reacts with free fatty acids through a neutralization reaction to form soapstock. Separate the soapstock from the oil by a centrifuge to reduce the acid value of the oil and obtain the alkali - refined oil.

    Washing、Drying

    Feed the washed oil into a vacuum dryer. Under a vacuum degree of - 0.08MPa to - 0.09MPa, indirectly heat the oil to raise its temperature to 100 - 110℃. As a result, the water evaporates rapidly, reducing the water content in the oil to less than 0.1%, and thus obtaining the dried oil.

    Decolorization
    ——
    Transfer the dried oil to the decolorization tank. Add an appropriate amount of activated clay or activated carbon. Under a vacuum condition at 100 - 120°C, the adsorbent is brought into full contact with the oil to adsorb pigments, off -lavor substances and residual impurities in the oil. After the adsorption reaction is completed, separate the adsorbent from the oil through afilter, obtaining the decolorized oil.
  • 05
    Deodorization
    ——
    Heat the decolorized oil to 230 - 260°C to provide a high - temperature condition for the deodorization reaction. Under a high vacuum degree (below - 0.095MPa), introduce direct steam, so that volatile off - flavor substances and free fatty acids in the oil volatilize and are removed along with the steam, obtaining refined rice bran oil. After deodorization, the oil is cooled to a suitable temperature for storage or filling, generally 40 - 50°C, by a cooler, and then transferred to a storage tank for storage.
